Emergency Health Profile
Residents in Jefferson County can voluntarily share medical information with Jeffcom 911 in case of an emergency when 911 is called from your mobile phone.
By using your iPhone’s Medical ID feature, your Android phone’s Emergency SOS feature or an Emergency Health Profile linked to any mobile phone, your relevant emergency information may be shared with public safety personnel through the RapidSOS emergency response data platform used by Jeffcom 911.

The information you provide is not used for any purpose other than delivering important information to first responders during an active 911 call. You may include information about yourself or others in your home, such as children or special needs individuals, and can include behavioral health information, pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, disabilities, emergency contacts, and more.
Does this work everywhere?
Information from your phone’s emergency app or your Emergency Health Profile is automatically shared with local 911 centers like Jeffcom 911 if they are using RapidSOS’s public safety software and have enabled the receipt of your information. Currently, this system is in use at over 4,700 911 centers in the U.S.
Despite this reach, there may be instances where your profile information may not be transmitted to a 911 center. Additionally, you need to ensure the information in your profile is correct and up-to-date. We recommend reviewing and updating your profile at least once every six months.
Creating an Emergency Health Profile
If you cannot configure the Medical ID or Emergency SOS function on your phone, we encourage you to read on for instructions for creating an Emergency Health Profile for that device. This works with most mobile phones, even those that cannot use the iPhone or Android features listed above.

How do I get help with my emergency health profile?
Jeffcom 911 is unable to provide technical assistance, because we do not administer Emergency Health profiles and are not familiar with the details of all mobile phones. Please visit your mobile carrier’s store for assistance with built-in phone features and apps, or email support@emergencyprofile.org for assistance with Emergency Health Profiles.
